Swanlea School students are celebrating an exceptional set of 2026 GCSE results, with this year’s outcomes representing the best GCSE results in the school’s history.
A remarkable 40% of all grades awarded were at grades 7–9, highlighting the outstanding achievements of our students and the dedication of both pupils and staff.
There was also strong success across the core subjects of English and Maths. 82% of students achieved grades 4 or above in both English and Maths, representing a standard pass, while 68% achieved grades 5 or above in both subjects, securing a stronger pass.
In addition, 81% of Year 11 students achieved five GCSEs, including English and Maths, at grade 4 or above, while 68% achieved five GCSEs, including English and Maths, at grade 5 or above.
English results were particularly strong, with 90% of students achieving grade 4 or above and 78% achieving grade 5 or above. In Maths, 86% of students achieved grade 4 or above, with 74% achieving grade 5 or above.
Swanlea students also demonstrated outstanding performance at the highest grades. 46% achieved grades 7–9 in Maths, while 41% achieved grades 7–9 in English. Meanwhile, 81% of students achieved grade 4 or above in Science.
These results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work, resilience and determination shown by our students throughout their GCSE journey, alongside the commitment and support of our teachers, staff and families.
