Swanlea School Celebrates World Mental Health Day

Swanlea School marked World Mental Health Day with a range of engaging activities designed to raise awareness of mental health and promote positive wellbeing across the school community.

The Events Room hosted a variety of interactive games, including Bingo, Giant Noughts & Crosses and word games, encouraging students to explore simple and positive ways to look after their mental health.

Students also enjoyed the return of the popular crochet stall and the Wellbean Project, which gave them the opportunity to grow their own bean seeds. A Mini Wellbeing Hub provided a space for students to learn more about managing stress, maintaining positive mental health and finding ways to cope during challenging times.

The activities also encouraged students to think about their future goals and aspirations, while our partners at Step-Forward shared valuable information about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), counselling and the support available to young people, both in school and through external services.

The day provided an opportunity for students to engage with important conversations about mental health in a welcoming and supportive environment. Through these activities, students were reminded of the importance of recognising their own wellbeing, supporting others and knowing where to turn when they need help.

A huge thank you to all the students and staff who helped organise and support the activities. Their time, enthusiasm and contributions helped make the event a positive experience for the Swanlea community.

At Swanlea School, we remain committed to promoting positive mental health, encouraging open conversations and ensuring that students understand the importance of looking after themselves and one another.
