Swanlea School has made history following its biggest ever Open Evening, welcoming more than 500 visitors through its doors for the first time in the school’s history.
The record-breaking evening marked the final event in Swanlea’s 2026 Open Event programme and provided prospective students, parents and carers with the opportunity to experience the school community for themselves.
Throughout the evening, visitors were able to take part in tours around the school, meet members of staff and teachers, explore different departments and enjoy a range of taster sessions and interactive activities.
The event also gave families the opportunity to learn more about what makes Swanlea an Ofsted Outstanding school and discover the opportunities available to students across the school.
The record attendance comes at an exciting time for Swanlea, following the school’s best GCSE results to date, with students achieving the best grades in the borough of Tower Hamlets.
A Whole-School Effort
An event of this scale could not happen without the dedication and support of the whole Swanlea community.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our staff for their hard work and commitment, both during our Open Events and throughout the school year. Their dedication goes far beyond events like this, with staff working every day to support, encourage and inspire our students and help them achieve their very best.
We would also like to give a special thank you to our student helpers, who played a fantastic role throughout the evening.
Our students welcomed visitors, led tours around the school, supported different faculties and helped with activities and taster sessions. They represented Swanlea with confidence and pride and gave our visitors a genuine insight into what it is like to be part of our school community.
Their contribution was a huge part of what made the evening such a success, and we are incredibly proud of them.
We would also like to thank every parent, carer and prospective student who took the time to visit us throughout our 2026 Open Events, and especially everyone who joined us for this record-breaking Open Evening.
We hope you enjoyed meeting our staff and students, exploring the school and experiencing some of what Swanlea has to offer.
Thank you to everyone who helped us make history.
We hope to see many of you choosing Swanlea School and becoming part of our community.
We look forward to welcoming you next year.
