Swanlea School Shines in the London’s Fairer Schools Index 2025

We are delighted to share that Swanlea School is ranked in the top 14 of a new ranking of London Schools!

Choosing the right school for your child can feel overwhelming, especially when traditional rankings often focus solely on exam results. The Fairer Schools Index takes a more thoughtful approach by considering socio-economic factors, providing a fuller picture of how schools are truly performing. These rankings show just how well we are supporting our young people at Swanlea School.

In the 2025 rankings, 17 London schools proudly secured spots in the UK’s top 50 compared to the traditional Department for Education (DfE) rankings, a testament to their dedication and resilience. Henri Murison, Chief Executive of the Northern Powerhouse, highlighted the importance of celebrating schools that overcome socio-economic barriers, helping to close the disadvantage gap.

Ms. Brenda Landers, Executive Headteacher of Swanlea School proudly declared, ‘The Fairer Schools’ Index shows just how exceptional the education that we provide at Swanlea is.  Together with our wonderful parents and carers, dedicated staff and hard-working pupils, we are delighted that we are one of top performing schools in the country.’
