Swanlea 6th Form Success!
We are delighted to be celebrating another year of excellent A Level and BTEC results for our Sixth Form students at Swanlea School – an effort owed to the dedicated hard work of the entire Swanlea community!
A Level Results:
56% A*-B grades
84% A*-C grades
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Results:
85% of students gained one Distinction* – Merit grade
46% of students gained Distinction* – Distinction grade
100% BTEC Level 3 Pass
Students have again lived up to our values of Respect, Aspire and Achieve with 56% of students achieving A* to B grades. Many students are heading off to top Russell Group universities despite intense competition for places, including UCL, Kings, Queen Mary and Bristol. With an amazing 84% A*-C, staff, students, parents and carers are rightly celebrating another set of outstanding results.
Kings College, University of London has been a popular destination for our hardworking students this year with many of them going on to study a broad range of courses.
This includes Umar (A*A*A in Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry) and Marsia (AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics) who are going on to study Pharmacy and Dentistry respectively. Another student, Nadia, who achieved AAB in Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry and will also be going to Kings to study Biomedicine with a year’s professional placement. Muaj will also be at Kings studying Computer Science after achieving straight A grades in his Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. Tahmina also achieved three A grades in Economics, Sociology and Mathematics and is excited about studying Economics at UCL next year.
Another prestigious university which has been popular with our sixth form students is UCL. Yusuf achieved 3 A grades in his Mathematics, Biology and Physics A Levels and will now be studying Civil Engineering at UCL joined by Younes who will be studying Biomedical Sciences after securing grades A*AA in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. Shewly is looking forward to reading for a degree in Psychology with Education at UCL having attained 3 grade A’s in English Literature, Psychology and Sociology.
Samin is overjoyed with his three A grades as he can now pursue his dream of becoming a doctor having secured a place at Queen Mary to study Medicine. Giuly will also be going to Queen Mary having achieved A*A*A in Biology, Maths and Chemistry as well as a B grade in Italian. She will be studying Medical Genetics. Radiya will be joining them at Queen Mary to read Law after she achieved A*A*A in Psychology, Literature and History along with Yousra who will be reading Economics after getting A*AA in History, Mathematics and Economics.
We are very excited for Reuben who achieved grades A*A*A in Mathematics, Economics and Physics and is now preparing for life at Bristol University where he will be studying Mechanical Engineering.
Our BTEC results were equally impressive. We have students going on to top universities such as Fayza who achieved D*D*D* in BTEC Health and Social Care who will be studying Mental Health Nursing at Kings College and Johan who will be reading Computer Science at Goldsmiths having secured grades D*D*D in his BTEC IT course.
The Joint Heads of Sixth Form, Ms Khatun and Ms Dosanjh said, “we are incredibly proud of all our sixth form students, their hard work, commitment and resilience have really paid off and we are excited for the journey that lies ahead for them having achieved such incredible results. It has been a privilege to work with such wonderful young people who have truly fostered the Swanlea values of respect, achievement and aspirations. We wish them every success for the future”.
The headteacher, Ms Landers, was overjoyed by the results. She stated, “These results are a testament to the continued academic excellence we pride ourselves for at Swanlea. We are elated that so many of our students have got their first-choice universities, including the significant number who will be continuing their academic studies at Russell Group universities.” Ms Landers further stated, “This is a fantastic set of results for both the school and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, our Governors, and, of course, the students themselves for their sheer determination and hard work!”
It is no surprise that Swanlea Sixth Form remains a popular choice for many of our students. We are exceptionally pleased with the excellent achievement of all our sixth formers today and wish them much happiness and success in their future pursuits.
