Red Cross Support During Coronavirus Crisis

Over the coming weeks the British Red Cross will be sharing new resources for children and young people (aged 7 to 18) to do at home during the coronavirus crisis.

All the free, online activities will be linked to a kindness calendar and will:

  • encourage simple acts of kindness
  • build resilience
  • connect the whole family and the community
  • have creative and quick ideas for learners
  • cover topics including first aid, preparedness, wellbeing and empathy
Here’s a summary of this week’s new activities:

  1. Digital for good – learners can consider how they’re using technology and how it can be used with kindness.
  2. Create a routine – sticking to a routine can help you feel more in control. We provide tips on how to create one and their benefits.
  3. Circles of control – thinking about what you can and can’t control helps you to stay resilient and be kind to yourself. This quick activity helps you reflect on your goals.
  4. Colour and share your kindness – colour in the Red Cross museum poster encouraging people to wash their hands, maintain distance or cover their coughs and sneezes.
  5. Reflection – spend time celebrating your or others’ kindness.

This is just a taster of this week’s activities. Don’t forgot to keep encouraging your class to think of new ways to be kind as kindness will keep us together.
